
Prof. Angie Doshani is a Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist at University Hospitals of Leicester and Honorary Professor at Loughborough and De Montfort Universities. With three decades of experience, she is dedicated to tackling health inequalities, improving community well-being, and empowering individuals through education, research, and digital health solutions.
She has secured national funding and participated in prestigious programs such as the NHS Clinical Entrepreneurship Programme and the HIEM Digital Accelerator. She successfully launched the JanamApp, co-created with South Asian communities to provide culturally sensitive, linguistically appropriate pregnancy information. Angie has contributed to key reports, including MBRRACE, which highlights maternal health inequalities, and has presented evidence to the All-Party Parliamentary Group on Birth Trauma. As an NHS England Core20PLUS Ambassador, she continues to champion healthcare equity.
Angie has held senior educator roles in both undergraduate and postgraduate medical education, mentoring students, trainees, and junior doctors through innovative teaching methods, including simulation-based training and quality improvement projects. She also collaborates with local and national charities, leading campaigns on perinatal health, mental health, and health issues affecting marginalised communities. Her work bridges gaps in healthcare, ensuring all individuals have the support and information needed to make informed choices.
