Dr Chris Evans is an anaesthetic doctor and researcher, specialising in the management of children’s anxiety before a healthcare procedure and the evaluation of digital health interventions. He is completing a PhD at UCL assessing the impact of innovation, design and technology on children’s anxiety before surgery.
Having witness the distress and anxiety of children and their families before surgery, Chris came up with the concept of Little Journey to prepare and support children and their family from the comfort and safety of their own home. The need for Little Journey was reinforced several years later when Chris’ son underwent surgery. Following this experience and propelled forward by his research findings, Chris founded Little Journey to improve children’s mental and physical outcomes from a healthcare procedure.
Chris is passionate about putting children and their family at the heart of the problem, combining this with insights gained through his clinical research to design immersive and engaging family-centred solutions. He is also a Trustee of Starlight Children’s Foundation – working to brighten the lives of seriously ill children.
