Elle Clarke
Dr Elle Clarke is an Emergency Medicine doctor and the Medical Director and Co-Founder of Heim, a community intelligence and operational tooling platform supporting neighbourhood and out-of-hospital care. She has spent much of her clinical career delivering urgent and out-of-hours care both in emergency departments and in people’s homes, including on rapid response and urgent community services. Through this work, she saw first-hand how critical community teams are to the NHS, and how little visibility exists around their day-to-day activity, capacity, and pressures.
Elle has an academic background in epidemiology, holding an MRes, and has published in digital health, service design, and workforce optimisation. She specialises in user-centred research with clinicians, focusing on building technology that fits real workflows and reduces operational and cognitive burden.
As Medical Director at Heim, Elle leads clinical safety, research, and product development, working closely with frontline nurses, operational managers, and system leaders. Heim has now been deployed across multiple NHS organisations, generating new insights into community workforce activity across diverse geographies and populations.
Elle’s work sits at the intersection of community care, digital infrastructure, and system change.
