Joseph Salem
Dr Joseph Salem is an ENT resident doctor and Medical Director at Oto Health, a UK-based digital therapeutics company focused on improving access to evidence-based care for people with tinnitus. His work sits at the intersection of clinical medicine, digital health, and health service innovation, with a particular focus on redesigning care pathways and supporting the integration of validated digital interventions within NHS services.
With over 20 peer-reviewed publications and presentations at national and international conferences, he has received awards for his contributions to tinnitus research and medical education. He played a central role in coordinating the DEFINE trial — the first randomised controlled trial comparing smartphone-delivered cognitive behavioural therapy with therapist-led tinnitus care — and has led NHS implementation initiatives aimed at improving access, reducing waiting times, and supporting more sustainable models of audiology and ENT care.
