Laura Corcoran
Laura Corcoran is the Founder and CEO of Dignity Care, developing innovative solutions to improve miscarriage care and reduce avoidable hospital admissions. Her work is driven by both lived experience of recurrent miscarriage and professional expertise in delivering national NHS services.
Following her own traumatic miscarriage — during which she was forced to miscarry at home, using a kitchen sieve to catch her baby over a toilet and storing the remains in a takeaway container — she identified a critical gap in care. In response, she designed the world’s first patented medical device for the dignified collection of pregnancy remains, providing the only reliable collection method outside of surgery. Launched just eight months ago, the Miscarriage Collection Cradle is now in use across 21 NHS hospitals, demonstrating improved patient experience, reduced surgical intervention, and measurable cost savings.
Her current focus is scaling equitable, community-based miscarriage care pathways aligned with national NHS priorities. She is committed to ensuring that women experiencing miscarriage receive safe, dignified, and compassionate care, regardless of where their miscarriage occurs.
