Problem
The NHS currently faces an interconnected crisis in the medical workforce and service delivery that places patient care and system resilience at risk:
- Escalating NHS waiting lists and elective backlog: In response to the backlog, the NHS SBS has allocated £6bn for insourcing and additional capacity.
