Meet Paul Jewell, fellow and founder of Assuric. Combining frontline clinical experience with expertise in digital health, Paul is helping healthcare organisations navigate the increasingly complex world of compliance, governance and assurance. Through an AI-powered platform, Assuric is enabling healthtech companies and NHS teams to deploy digital health and AI technologies more safely, efficiently and confidently, helping accelerate innovation while maintaining the highest standards of patient safety and information governance.
What is Assuric and what problem does it solve?
Assuric is an AI-powered compliance, governance and assurance platform designed for healthcare and healthtech organisations. It helps companies and NHS teams complete essential regulatory, clinical safety, information governance and quality assurance activities significantly faster, reducing the time, complexity and resource burden associated with bringing safe digital health and AI technologies into practice.
The challenge it addresses is increasingly important. Healthcare organisations face growing demands to demonstrate compliance, manage risk and assure the safety and effectiveness of digital solutions. Yet many of these processes remain fragmented, manual and difficult to navigate, creating delays to innovation and placing additional pressure on already stretched teams.

What was your inspiration and motivation?
As a doctor, I have seen first-hand both the transformative potential of technology and the challenges that can prevent promising innovations from reaching frontline care. While there is enormous enthusiasm for digital health and AI across the NHS, navigating the compliance and assurance landscape can be overwhelming for organisations of all sizes.
That experience inspired the creation of Assuric. We wanted to simplify those processes and provide organisations with the tools they need to manage compliance more effectively, without compromising on safety or governance.

Why did you become a fellow?
Being an NHS Innovation Accelerator (NIA) fellow is a real privilege and an exciting opportunity to learn from some of the most talented innovators and leaders across the health system.
The Fellowship provides a unique platform to better understand how innovation can be successfully scaled within the NHS, while also creating valuable opportunities to collaborate, share experiences and learn from others who are tackling important healthcare challenges.
For me personally, it is also an opportunity to contribute to the national conversation around the safe, responsible and effective deployment of AI in the NHS.

Looking ahead
Over the next five years, I hope to see Assuric become a core part of the infrastructure that enables healthcare organisations to deploy digital health and AI technologies safely, quickly and confidently.
As digital innovation continues to accelerate, healthcare organisations will need assurance processes that can keep pace without compromising standards. By helping teams reduce timelines from innovation to implementation, we can support faster access to technologies that improve outcomes for patients and clinicians.
