Jihad Malasi
A doctor for 23 years, Jihad is a primary care physician trained in family medicine, psychiatry and health economics. An expert across the digital mental health technology (DMHT) pathway, his portfolio covers clinical practice, ICB as clinical lead in mental health & NICE Medical Technologies Assessment Committee (MTAC/MedTech).
A Senior Fellow of the Faculty of Medical Leadership and Management, Jihad is a former Clinical Chair of Thanet Clinical Commissioning Group. He brings years of practical ICB leadership, transformation & management experience, including large scale hospital and regional stroke reconfiguration. Previously, he has held clinical leadership roles in mental health, child and adolescents (CAMHS) services, maternity, learning disabilities, and dementia, with a track record in delivering sustainable whole-system change.
Jihad holds an executive MSc from the London School of Economics and Political Science in health economics, policy, and management. At NICE, he contributes to HTA Early Value Assessments (EVA) & Late Stage Assessments that influence & underpin national decisions on cost-effectiveness, adoption and procurement strategies for digital, AI and device innovations in the NHS, & internationally.
Passionate about health equity, Jihad is Non-Executive Director for the award-winning charity, Social Enterprise Kent and holds a MSc in Global Healthcare Leadership. He spent 2 years visiting, volunteering and studying international healthcare systems in HIC & LMICs. He is an associate with Global Policy Network, an international policy institute dedicated to advancing inclusive, evidence-based policies across health, education and sustainability. Its mission is to strengthen global collaboration, accelerate policy innovation and support equitable development.
