Problem
Children and young people with neurodevelopmental conditions, neurodisability, and other longterm needs often move through care pathways that feel fragmented and difficult to navigate. Autism, ADHD, epilepsy, and complex care services are under significant pressure, with long waits and growing demand.
In practice, families and schools notice concerns and changes over time, but this information is often unstructured, inconsistently tracked, and not brought together in a way that clinicians can easily use at the point of care. Some families are able to document things clearly, while others struggle because of time, confidence, language, or simply not knowing what is helpful to record. This unintentionally creates inequalities.
The challenge increases when multiple teams across different services, organisations, and hospitals are involved. Information does not always flow between community teams, acute services, schools, and specialist clinics, leaving families repeating their story and coordinating care.
As a result, clinicians work from snapshots rather than clear patterns. Referrals can be incomplete, appointments are repeated, and children wait longer than they should.
Solution
EnrichMyCare is an AI-enabled digital platform that transforms the neurodisability and neurodevelopmental care pathway from referral to post-diagnostic support. It addresses the key system failures driving long waiting times and delayed diagnoses: incomplete referrals, inefficient triage, and the absence of structured pre-clinic data.
Structured digital forms replace inconsistent paper-based submissions from GPs, schools, and families. Built-in AI checks ensure completeness before submission, while clinician-supervised triage logic prioritises cases by complexity and risk, reducing administrative burden and improving decision-making at every stage.
Parents and schools contribute longitudinal data such as symptom diaries, videos, and reports to give clinicians a richer picture before the first appointment. In NHS pilots, this has reduced assessment time by 40% and enabled complex diagnoses to be reached in a single appointment, where previously three or more were required. Family satisfaction exceeded 90%.
The platform also provides personalised waiting well support from the point of referral, ensuring no family is left without guidance. EnrichMyCare connects all stakeholders in a single system thereby improving efficiency, reducing waiting times, and enhancing outcomes across the entire pathway.
Impact
Derbyshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust (Neurodevelopmental Pathway):
- Waiting times for assessment reduced by 33.3%
- Diagnostic pathway streamlined from three appointments to one in complex cases
- Clinician confidence in decision-making improved through structured longitudinal data
Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust (Children’s Epilepsy Service – early phase):
- Improved real-time capture of seizure activity and medication response
- Enhanced family engagement in monitoring 36 functional indicators (e.g., concentration, memory, school performance)
Across pilot sites:
- Goal Attainment Scaling scores improved from 48% to 82%
- Patient and carer satisfaction increased from 6.3 to 9.1 out of 10
- Clinician administrative burden reduced through automated summaries and reporting
