Strolll: Using augmented reality to transform neurorehabilitation
Find out how Strolll is using augmented reality to reimagine rehabilitation for people with neurological conditions and how the programme is supprorting them to scale.
With over 25 years of NHS experience, Barri Morgan-Jones has dedicated his career to improving patient care – first as an occupational therapist, then as a healthcare leader, and now as an innovator. Today, he is driving the adoption of Strolll, a pioneering augmented reality (AR) therapeutic platform that is reimagining rehabilitation for people with neurological conditions.
What is Strolll and what problem does it solve?
Strolll is an AR digital therapeutic platform designed to improve mobility and rehabilitation for people with neurological disorders such as Parkinson’s, stroke, and multiple sclerosis. Using lightweight AR glasses, it delivers functional therapy exercises that are both personalised and engaging.
For patients, the AR overlays provide visual cues and interactive games in real time, helping to overcome challenges like freezing of gait and loss of confidence. Early trials have shown significant improvements in gait and balance, zero falls recorded, a usability score of 8.8/10, and adherence levels above 100%.
For clinicians, Strolll improves efficiency too: therapists can deliver up to seven times more treatment sessions with 67% less staff time. The result is a platform that makes rehabilitation more effective, efficient, and sustainable for both patients and health services.
“Strolll makes rehabilitation more effective, efficient, and sustainable for both patients and health services.”

What was your inspiration and motivation?
Although not the original founder, Barri Morgan-Jones has fully embraced Strolll’s mission. With more than 25 years’ experience in the NHS, first as an occupational therapist, later as a leader in operational management and digital innovation, he has seen first-hand how neurological conditions can rob people of independence.
“Watching someone with Parkinson’s use the glasses and take confident steps, or a stroke survivor regain their balance, those are the moments that motivate me and the team to keep pushing forward.”

Barri’s motivation comes from seeing patients’ lives change in real time, when technology helps them regain confidence, mobility, and independence.
Why did you become a Fellow?
Becoming an NHS Innovation Accelerator (NIA) fellow has given Barri and Strolll the platform they needed to accelerate their mission.
“The NIA connects you to a community of innovators, mentors, and health leaders who understand the journey. It’s recognition that what you’re doing matters, but also a challenge to keep improving and sharing your learning. The fellowship has helped us shape our evidence base, navigate procurement, and build the partnerships needed to scale.”
Looking ahead
Over the next five years, Barri hopes to see Strolll become one of the most widely used rehabilitation platforms worldwide, with thousands of patients across the UK and internationally benefiting from AR-based therapy.
Expansion is already underway into the US, Europe, and the Middle East, with further clinical evidence being generated through trials including an NIHR-funded study.
“We want Strolll to help set a new standard for rehabilitation – high quality, immersive, and accessible to all.”
