Dean of the Warwick Medical School announced as NHS Innovation Accelerator Mentor
The NHS Innovation Accelerator (NIA) is pleased to announce that Professor Sudhesh Kumar, Dean of the Warwick Medical School and Director of the Institute of Digital Healthcare at University of Warwick, will join its pool of Mentors, offering support to NIA Fellows.
Professor Kumar is a clinical endocrinologist by background, with 22 years’ experience as a Consultant Physician in the NHS. He is a Non-Executive Director on the University Hospital Coventry & Warwickshire NHS Trust Board and NHS Digital.Professor Kumar joins an expert, high-profile group, offering bespoke guidance to Fellows. Current Mentors include Ed Jones, Special Advisor to Secretary of State for Health and Social Care; Professor the Lord Ara Darzi; Judge Business School Fellow, Pam Garside; and Chairman of NHS Digital, Noel Gordon.
The pool of Mentors providing support to the NIA is regularly expanded according to the experiences and identified needs of the Fellows. Representing a broad skills base, Mentor support includes advice, guidance and networking.
Professor Kumar’s interests include developing novel approaches, including medical technology, to managing obesity and diabetes that has helped to transform and improve patient care and treatment. His expertise includes clinical trials, and development and testing of technology-based solutions.
