Dr. Jack Pottle is Founder and Chief Medical Officer of Oxford Medical Simulation (OMS) – an award-winning virtual reality healthcare simulation company.
Having initially studied psychology, Dr. Pottle worked as a healthcare assistant before becoming a doctor. He was clinician in the NHS for five years, set up an open-access medical education website and completed public health fellowship in Cape Town. His experiences highlighted the global need to close the gap between training and practice, and the demand for improved training to impact patient care.
He founded Oxford Medical Simulation to bridge this gap using virtual reality (VR). The OMS VR platform is now used worldwide to deliver simulation-based training in a quality, scalable and cost-efficient manner. By providing doctors and nurses the opportunity to practice with virtual patients on demand, OMS is scaling healthcare training to improve performance, reduce error and improve patient care.
