NIA innovations shortlisted for 2022 Innovate Awards
Debuting this year, the Innovate Awards are a collaboration between the AHSN Network and the NHS Confederation. They celebrate excellence in innovation and transformation across the health and care system. Over 80 finalists were whittled down from over 190 submissions across 10 categories.
The shortlisted innovations are:
Holmusk and Greater Manchester Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust (GMMH) have been shortlisted for the “Innovation Spread” award. The project involved responding to data driven insights and enhancing the digital culture of Greater Manchester’s mental health teams. Caroline Gadd, Holmusk, was part of the 2020 Fellowship programme.
Oxehealth, with Essex Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust (EPUT), has been shortlisted for the “Enabling Safer Systems of Care Through Innovation” category. The innovation involves new non-intrusive monitoring technology to improve safety and care quality on mental health inpatient wards. Charlotte Wood, Director for Mental Health at Oxehealth, was part of the 2021 Fellows programme.
ChatHealth, developed by Leicestershire Partnership NHS Trust, has been shortlisted for the “Innovation Spread” award. ChatHealth is a safe, secure messaging service that puts young people and parents directly in touch with healthcare professionals, supporting greater efficiencies by enabling individual nurses to provide services to many more people. Caroline Palmer, Clinical Lead for Digital Development for ChatHealth, was part of the 2019 Fellowship programme.
Written Medicine and London North West Healthcare NHS Trust have been shortlisted for the “Innovation Helping Address Health Inequalities” category, for reducing language barriers with bilingual medication information. Written Medicine founder Ghalib Khan is part of the 2022 programme.
The NHS Innovation Accelerator is currently seeking innovations that align with the NHS Core20Plus5 manifesto, while addressing the key theme areas of elective recovery and operational challenges post-pandemic. Find out more and apply.
